REACH FOR THE STARS

There is a deep connection between the vast studies of our inner and outer universe. From observing the stars, our ancestors calculated cycles and patterns that repeat in the cosmos.

These studies are identified today as Astrology and Numerology. From within, dreams influenced petroglyphs, mythology, and Jungian Psychology to name a few.

When the dualities of the inner and outer worlds are united, these sacred sciences construct the basis of many ancestral practices.

As Above, So Below, Day and Night, Sun and Moon.

From these origins, it is said the original forms of psychotherapy and mathematics were created. The Mayan sacred calendar is comprised of 20 Archetypal Energies and 13 days. The Mayan tradition is said to be 5,129 years old. The last Mayan civilization ended in 3114 BC.

The Mayan calendar works differently than other forms of astrology. Most of what we know today is what survived the Spanish invasion. According to some experts who practice the original Mayan cycles, 2012 was based on Gregorian time. February 3rd, 2020 is said to be the more accurate calculation for the ending of a 5,200-year Mayan cycle.

The Mayans approach the sun cycle for agricultural purposes (consciousness).

The Moon calendar is predominantly a sub-conscious guide, including fire ceremonies and dreaming.

In the Mayan cosmovision, there are 9 underworlds, a center world, and 13 upper worlds. When dreaming, our celestial body travels to these worlds for guidance, healing, and messages.

SACRED CALENDAR

One of the aspects of working the Sacred Calendar as a spiritual path is the Art of Dreaming. In Mayan communities, dreams are important, they are meant to be shared. The Mayas regard dreams as Omens, they are not meant to be feared. The Mayas give thanks to nightmares, for they constitute warning signals. If action is taken, change can bring purpose to what is no longer serving you.

The importance of dreams is demonstrated by how the Maya discusses them. They use special terminology and syntax when telling stories or reciting ancient myths, but this is not characteristic of daily speech.

Dreams are myths, described in mythical speech. Shamanic or archetypal dreams draw more significance.

The third aspect of the soul ā€œkoyopa,ā€ is a phenomenon within the human body meaning ā€œbody lightning,ā€ or ā€œlightning in the blood.ā€ Sky serpents are the equivalent representation of the rise of Kundalini in India.

Some are born with Koyopa, and others develop it or awaken it through powerful spiritual experiences.

The talented dreamers are Tzā€™ikin, Noā€™j, Imox, Tzi. (find your Nawal at www.mayatecum.com)

DREAM WORLDS

Learning to dream with clarity and lucidity allows us to access messages to our conscious minds after we awake.

An archetypal dreamer is a spiritual warrior.

If a match between a day sign and a dream occurs, it is an important dream. If a dream is not complete, a meditation on that dream until 20 days when that same energy sign of the original dream allows an opportunity to re-enter the dream and complete the message.

There are many ways to prepare to dream before bed. There is one method commonly used by Mayans. Warm water with lemon an hour after dinner. Breathe deeply, clear the mind, and imagine a bird rhythmically moving, slowly taking wings of ā€œnagualā€ and carrying you to the dream world. šŸ¦…

The safe and gradual method to awaken the koyopa energy or Kundalini is 29 days of fire ceremonies (during the cycle of the moon). The day sign soul is what distinguishes human beings from other beings. There is a third soul, innate in some, and is cultivated through shamanic training.

The Mayan Priests would activate the koyopa through kulkukan movements in the highest chamber of the pyramids.

The Mayan Priests would also select those based on their archetypal energy signs to read the calendar or activate the koyopa energy within. Pre-dawn hours before waking are most important, the Nawal wonders to meet and interact with wandering nawales of others, human or other. The day sign Soul (Nawal) is the spiritual essence and archetypal imprint. It is this soul that dreams and can roam freely.

ADIOSICH

Beginning in the Ancient Mayan world, there was already this concept and term of dreaming as a means of connecting with your co-essence: your way.

The ā€œadiosichā€ is the soul of the person that lives on after the person dies, the spirit of the person, and can still be contacted by the living in dreams.

Today this practice is preserved by a few, who happily share what they know. Some speak of using their altar to communicate during sleep.

While sleeping, they receive messages from items on their altar such as rocks and crystals.

It is said by those dream practitioners to leave a cup of water for your spirit to drink when it returns to your body and is thirsty. If everything is a living being, then it is possible to communicate with anything in existence.

The Alter represents your beliefs, and faiths, and connects you deeper to those items placed. In Mayan tarot card readings, leaving a particular card underneath your pillow at night allows you to connect deeper with the archetype of that card.

Visualizing the tarot card before sleep can unveil more of the hidden messages. It is the same for the items on our altar.

On the 4 specific days in the Mayan calendar, the dream portals are said to be more profound (Tzā€™ikin, Noā€™j, Imox, Tzā€™i).

COSMIC FORCES

I began my studies of the Maya Cosmovision with Chakra Rajan Kan at the IKYU Institute in Cali Colombia. He is a Mayan priest under the lineage of Carlos Barrios of Guatemala (Mayan Spiritual Guide). It is thanks to these teachers and their contributions that I practice.

The truth is anyone can dream. With intention and consistency, we can draw more from these mysterious experiences.

Dreams are very important when becoming a spiritual healer because it exposes the dreamer to the ā€œpowerful world of cosmic forcesā€. Over a moon cycle of practice, a dream journal can help us see beyond our dreams.

Those who are natural dreamers can also go deeper, and thus, help others in the process. Talking about our dreams with elders and ancestors is a part of our history.

SPIRIT CIRCLE

Our ancestors used dreams to solve the challenges we all face in life.

When we bring the circle together, we draw a larger picture. Knowledge speaks, and wisdom listens.

ā€œYou may say Iā€™m a dreamer, but Iā€™m not the only one.ā€- John Lennon

To the night dreamers, the daydreamers, and dreamkeepers, may your dreams be the gifts that awake your spirit.
