Sacred Calendar
The Mayan mystic marriage is that of the sun and moon; known as the Tzolkin and Haab cycles.
In the Mayan Calendar, there are two measurements of time. The Sacred time cycle (Tzol’kin) and the Ordinary time cycle (Haab). There are 13 moons in a 365 day year. The moon has a 13 day of waxing and a 20 day of visibility. 13x20=260 moon cycle. This is where we get the 20-day sign glyphs (Nawals) and the 13 Days.
Tzol’kin is the 260 day Moon cycle (20 Nauales x 13 days), and Haab the 365 day Sun cycle (20 x 18= 360 + 5 days called Wayeb).

The Fourfold Universe
The Mayan universe comprises four essential, meaningful divisions of time and space. The Cross was a common symbol among the Maya; it represented the fourfold Tree of Life. This fourfold universe defined their worldview.
